The Ugly Rock

           

Before Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel, he was a sculptor. Hammer and chisel in hand, Michelangelo kept striking at an ugly rock for a very long time. Observing him spend so much time striking at the rock in one spot, a man approached him and asked, "Why are you wasting your time on this ugly rock?" Michelangelo turned to look at the man and replied, "I see a beautiful angel in this ugly rock and I want to bring him out."
