My Best Friend

                                                 Quote above by: Kathleen Grove

This is a very different friendship poem... It is called "My Best Friend."

Today I found a friend,
Who knew everything I felt.
She knew my every weakness,
And the problems I've been dealt.

She understood my wonders,
And listened to my dreams.
She listened to how I felt about life and love,
And knew what it all means.

Not once did she interrupt me,
Or tell me I was wrong.
She understood what I was going through,
And promised she'd stay long.

I reached out to this friend
To show her that I care,
To pull her close and let her know
How much I need her there.

I went to hold her hand,
To pull her a bit nearer
And realized that this perfect friend I found
Was nothing but my mirror.

I love this poem, because the ending surprises you!

Looking at my reflection has always been hard for me to do, even when I had a beautiful body. Why is it that as adults, we only see our imperfections?!#

At school, there is a big mirror in the main hall. When I pass by, I give it all my effort not to look at myself, but when the students pass by, they take the time to slow down in front of the mirror. They look at themselves from all angles. They lift up their hands to rearrange their hair with their fingers. If they didn't have to get to class, some of them would probably stay in front of the mirror all day.

Oh, to be like a little child who sees his reflection in the mirror and sees a friend. ~ Winivere

Thank you to my graphic group for tagging this for me! It matches the snagged tag at the top!! I love that!

P.S....  I found the Vision Voucher! Thank you for keeping me in your prayers. =.)

I am sorry i have not been around for a while i seem to be chasing my tail a tad. I love the poem and no you do not expect the end to be like that. You say you can not look at your reflection in a mirror. Often we do not like what we see in a mirror but what we see is not what other people see.I see in you a lovely person and you will do anything to help others.I see a person that has something very special about them. I see a friend who i am very proud to call a friend. We can be the ugliest person alive and still have beauty. AND YOU MY FRIEND ARE A VERY BEAUTIFUL PERSON INSIDE AND OUT.I hope the meds get sorted out and you are feeling better.
love and hugs

loved the poem...  Great ending.  I find myself doing the same thing.  Not wanting to see my reflection in my mirror.  learning to look at myself..
take care,
