Keep The Dream ALIVE

Imagine yourself standing at your window. Look at the trees and the cars and at your neighbor's houses. Imagine that your house and your yard is the United States of America and imagine that you are the President of the United States. Imagine that every house on your block is a different country.

As you look out the window, you see a man coming outside his house, holding his wife by her hair. He hits her in the face and he punches her in the stomach. She is crying, she is helpless, and she is bleeding. He hits her again and throws her to the ground and he finishes her off by kicking her to death. Their children are crying but they are afraid of their father and they have no way of stopping him because they are only children. The woman is dead. WHAT DO YOU DO?

Imagine that the police are the United Nations. You dial 9-11. They take your call but they refuse to help. They tell you that it's not their place and that you should stay out of it. WHAT DO YOU DO?

Imagine that man is Saddam and he turns around to do the same thing to his children. His children are dead. WHAT DO YOU DO?

Imagine you go to ask a nearby neighbor to help you to stop him, but the neighbor has been watching from his window, too. He refuses to get involved. So you go to look for help at other neighbor's houses, but they, too, refuse to get involved. They all refuse to help. WHAT DO YOU DO?

Imagine that man watching you go for help and he saw that no one would help you stop him.  He stands taller and puffs out his chest. He walks across the street to an old woman's house and breaks down her door. He drags the old woman outside her house. He steals all of her valuables and he sets her house on fire, and then...he kills her. He turns around and sees you standing at your window and he laughs at you. The old woman is dead. WHAT DO YOU DO?

Imagine that you close your blinds. Imagine that you stay inside your house for the rest of your life, afraid to look outside your window ever again because you dont want to watch him do all these terrible things. Imagine that you do nothing. Imagine that you pretend that it is not happening. But now....  he's at your front door... WHAT DO YOU DO?!

Imagine that you want to defend your family. Imagine now you want to fight him, but now, it's too late to fight him,  He's too strong and he's already at YOUR front door. You realize that you should have stopped him BEFORE he killed his wife.

We must never be afraid to do what is right, even if it means you must do it alone. We must keep in mind why so many people come to America in pursue of the American dream. We must remember why our forefather's came to this country in the first place. It would be sad if we looked outside our windows and America belonged to another country. It would be sad if our homes no longer had windows.

Kerry's campaign is using the war with Iraq as "President Bush's greatest mistake." What would happen if Kerry were President? How can America follow a leader who announced to the whole world that Vice President Cheney's daughter is a lesbian? I can only imagine how hurt she must be. He is clearly a talker who is out to win, no matter what the cost. Americans need to see that we cannot follow a leader who has no tact.

President Kennedy was a democrat. Kerry is a democrat, but Kerry is not following the example of President Kennedy. He wants to help people to become more dependent on welfare. We dont need more people on welfare. We need Americans to lead by example. We need Americans who want to work. We need Americans who want to be strong, Americans who want to make keep this country great. What are we teaching our children? What will the future hold if we teach our children to be followers instead of leaders?

I know because I see it everyday. I hear them talking to each other, the people who come to our country only for "the benefits." A handful come with a dream to better themselves, but so many of them are only looking for someone or something to take care of them so they dont have to work, or they will work for a few months and take most of the year off collecting unemployment. To top things off, because they are from another country, they do not pay taxes of any kind, not even sales taxes. They all stand in line to get their money back for any products that they have purchased. Only 40% of the people in this area work and most of that percentage are single women.

Contrary to Kerry's beliefs, I say President Bush did the right thing. No one wants to see their loved ones die at war, but the message they leave to their survivors is a message of honor, a message of our right to look outside our windows without fear, a message of hope for peace for the entire world.

The liberty we prize is not American's gift to the world; it is God's gift to humanity. ~  George W  Bush
