My Sweet Guardian Angel, where are you?! What a week this has been! I am so grateful that Friday finally found itself into my week.
As far as my diet, I was doing great, until someone stole my lunch at work and my coworker kept wanting to know what I was eating everyday. I work with professionals who earn twice or three times more money than I do, and they steal my lunch?! Everything in the bag was new and unopened, and it was enough for the week. After that, I have not taken any food to work that requires refrigeration and that means that most days, I ate whatever was handy and/or fattening or I went without. Oddly enough, the principal did not want any details from me. She asked my coworker instead. She downsized the problem and made it seem as if I had lied.
Over the weekend, someone broke into my car and stole the money for my program's raffle and the props we were going to use at the Jamaica. Now, morally, I have to replace that lost money from my own pocket. Ouch.
My boss showed up on Tuesday and told me that the principal wanted to talk to him about several "concerns." Again, she spoke to someone else about me instead of talking to me directly. She scheduled him for the next day at 9 a.m.
My coworker seemed quiet that day, which is not like her at all. Since she is a favorite of the principal, I had my suspicions, so I told her that she seemed kind of quiet as if she was guilty about something. She laughed and said no, but I wasnt convinced.
That same night, my doctor's secretary called me at almost 10 p.m. She said that they had been trying to reach me and that the doctor wanted to see me early the next morning. You cannot imagine all the things that went through my head, especially since my scheduled appointment was a month away.
On Wednesday, my boss met with the principal. I waited for a bit, but he was in there for a long time, so I left and went to see what the doctor had to tell me. I was so afraid that it was going to be aids or cancer or something, but it was things that I already know about.
After my appointment, I went to see my boss to discuss what the principal had said. Because he is an outsider, he can only take what she told him at face value, but for me, it wasnt hard to confirm that the information came from my coworker. Why do I always attract people who want to stab me in the back?
The next day was Thursday. I walked in with two big tacos and I ate them right in front of her. It felt odd to use food as a weapon right in her face, but it felt really good to see her watch me eat, knowing that she is on a diet. She immediately asked about my doctor appointment, and I told her that it was kind of personal. She got quiet. She was quiet for a while, but then she transformed herself into her same bitchy, witchy self. Out of the blue, the other woman I work with told her that she had a problem and again, she got quiet, but it didnt take long for her to turn back into her evil self.
Today, as usual, she started telling the kids off when they came in to see me, and of course, she put in her two cents worth about how I should do my job. I quickly defended my kids and told her that I know which kids lie, but the two kids she was accusing of lying have never lied to me and have no reason to lie. She got quiet. I avoided her the rest of the day. Her ears continued to perk up with every kid that came in to see me. Fortunately, the women went out to lunch in the middle of the day, when most of the kids were there.
Tomorrow is Saturday and I really should go in to work on the computer, but I choose to take a trip to Rockport instead. Even if it is for only a day, I really need to get away.
Win =.)
